The best entertainment concept that I have seen in ages is Rockaoke…. It’s karaoke with a real band. Now I’m not one for karaoke… At all… But this is entertainment! Check this bunch out at www.rockaoke.co.UK

Sunny days are so awesome. There is something about the sun that just makes you get out of bed on the right side and have a good start to the day. It unfortunately doesn’t immunise you from having some moron ruin it for you on the way to work…. But that is another topic for discussion.
This image was shot outside my front door. It was 0 degrees celcius outside but a perfectly still sunny morning. As I walked out the door the colours of the leaves being backlit by the sun were so rich. It just perked up my day.
I can easily see how people can just get into the whole fast food rut. Unless you’re a food nut like Jamie Oliver or someone. Nobody likes to get home at 7.15 pm and then still cook a meal.. Then still prepare lunches etc. I have a flippin amazing fiancé who really looks after me and cooks awesome meals even though she gets home after 7pm. If it wasn’t for her, me, McDonalds, Nandos and Burger King would get well acquainted.

There is something about yacht marina’s that is romantic. Not in the soppy “ooo I want to kiss you by the marina” romantic but rather the feeling of “I’d love to be ok one of those boats right now”. Marina’s seem to be also fast becoming a part of the attraction to many dockside developments like the Waterfront in Cape Town, Poole Harbour, Exeter and this one at Portsmouth Harbour.

I am South African, I must travel. I often catch my thoughts drifting away to near and far destinations, my senses heightened and almost being able to feel and smell what my mind is seeing. The same thoughts that are induced by pictures in magazines or overheard conversations come crashing down when the phone rings or the guy in traffic infront of you stops suddenly.
I often wonder what is better, to sit and dream of the good times had in the places you’ve been to or to dream of the good times you will have in the places you’re going to.
This image was shot in the yacht berth at Cowes on the Isle of Wight. We had had a great sail from Portsmouth to Cowes. Good memories induced and reinforced by a photo. Don’t forget to take photos.
I get bored very quickly. I suppose that is why you could call me a jack of all trades and master of none. I have done several things career wise and many many more when it comes to sport and activities… I have done boxing, surfing, kayaking, fly fishing…. Played squash, tennis, hockey, run marathons, cycled, climbed mountains and done several adventure races. I have loved all of the things that I have done and am glad that I could go back to any one of them at any stage because I know what it is all about. I have found a new thing that I really like and am very keen to get stuck in and learn the ropes (no pun intended). Sailing is something that I have done a little bit of but nothing big. I am looking forward to the journey of discovering new skills, experiencing new feelings and meeting new people.

London, infact Europe….. is one big history lesson. Where ever you go, what ever road you look down, there is some sort of history that is probably older than South Africa (which was insettled on in 1820). The church buildings are the most impressive, the stone masonry is so intricate and accurate. The church was definitely where the money was back in the day.
This image was shot in High Street Kensington. The archway is the entrance to a majestic church building on a fairly large ground in the middle of some of the most prime real estate in the world.
There is such a huge network of tunnels underneath London. Not only is there the tube which literally knits London together but also pedestrian tunnels connecting tubes and road tunnels going under the Thames etc. For an island that’s pretty much a blob of mud the architects and engineers have done an amazing job.

Liverpool Street Station is in some ways the epitome of London itself. You see, London is a bit of a hole, it is dirty, the people are not nice and many of them smell really bad…. But London is so central to travel from. You can go anywhere from London and get there relatively fast. Liverpool Street Station is like that, you can literally travel to anywhere in England from there and get there pretty quick. It is a buzzing hive of activity, just like London. It just doesn’t rain in Liverpool Street Station.
